Capturing Candid Moments: The Art of Unposed Family Photography
Candid family session in Botanical Garden
I get it, truly. I know it can feel intimidating to be photographed. Heck, put me in front of the camera, and I turn into this slightly awkward version of myself! So believe me, I understand how it feels.
I photographed this gorgeous family a few weeks ago in the Botanical Garden Singapore, and let me tell you, the session was so playful, it felt like hanging out with old friends on a sunny day.
But here's the thing: as a family photographer, my goal isn’t to make you strike stiff, unnatural poses. Instead, I always guide families into relaxed, chill poses that feel natural. They shouldn't feel "posed" but more like snapshots of your genuine interactions. Like a playdate with your kids.
There's something genuinely heartwarming about capturing those spontaneous, unscripted moments. Those natural giggles, a parent's tender glance, or kids being their mischievous selves – these are the times when real emotions shine through, and that's what I live to capture.
There's a magic in candid photos that is unparalleled. When families are allowed to just be, when they forget the camera and immerse themselves in the moment, that’s when the magic happens. And the lush backdrop of the Botanical Garden only added to the enchantment.
