A Magical Family Session at Marina Barrage at Sunset

There’s something truly special about a family session at Marina Barrage, especially at sunset. It’s a location that never fails to deliver, and this particular session was no exception. We started the evening with the sun casting its warm glow across the sky, filling every moment with golden light.

The family arrived full of energy and excitement, which set the tone for a playful and lively session. As we made our way across the Barrage, the kids couldn't resist running around, and I was there, camera in hand, capturing those candid moments—giggles, hugs, and spontaneous fun. Marina Barrage has this wonderful mix of open spaces and that iconic view of Marina Bay Sands, which makes it such a great spot for family photos.

I hadn't photographed a family here in a few years, so it completely blew my mind to see just how gorgeous it was this time. The last session I did here was during sunrise, and since the sun rises so fast, we didn’t get the same feel in the photos. The soft, gradual change in the afternoon light created such a dreamy vibe—it’s afternoon sessions from now on for sure!

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, something magical happened. Just as the Marina Bay Sands started to block the sun, the city of Singapore began to light up in the background. The skyline came alive with gorgeous hues, and the soft, stunning glow illuminated the family perfectly. It was as if Singapore itself had joined in the session, offering its unique charm to complement the warmth of the family’s connection.

We spent the next moments capturing them in the midst of that perfect light, and every shot felt like a blend of family love and the magic of this beautiful city at sunset.
